Did i do the right thing by breaking up with my boyfriend?

Well first off he went out and got drunk and came home. Then thought i was sleeping and snuck out the door and said he had to go pick up one of his drunk friends when i called which would only take him 20 minutes. it turned into 2 hours. he said he fell asleep on the side of the road. but then i read his text messages and he was texting a girl trying to up. he just flat out lied to my face when i asked him where he was to.
