Ferret possibly with adrenal?

i have a female ferret possibly with adrenal. She is loosing her fur on her tail and i just want to know if i take her to the vet what are they going to do and how expensive will it be?? Im so worried shes like my child but i dont have to much money to spend.. Are there other options i can choose from that isnt so costly??
