My fiance' was sick before i met him. it was something to do with his adrenal gland.?

i don't know what the sickness he had is called. but it gave him huge doses of adrenalin non stop, he said it was kind of like being on a months long meth high but with out the meth. then he ended up getting sicker from it, not being able to eat or sleep or function right. he even ended up in the hospital in a month long coma then into a wheelchair not being able to do anything for himself for months. he had to have chemo to get the gland to shrink so it wouldn't pump out all that extra adrenalin again, but there is always a chance he can get sick again. im wondering if anyone can help me figure out what the sickness is called so i can check the symptoms??? im scared he may be getting sick again, and just isn't telling me.
